VIJAYAWADA: Former Union minister and senior Congress leader MM Pallam Raju found fault with the TDP and YSR Congress for indulging in ‘who dares’ game, instead of focusing on the steps to get what is rightfully belongs to the State.

He said though punished by people for bifurcation, the Congress has never betrayed their trust and has been sincerely fighting for ensuring implementation of AP Reorganisation Act and Special Category Status. “We have never slackened our efforts in that direction. Even now, we have issued notice under 194 for discussion in Parliament on the issue,” he told mediapersons here on Tuesday and affirmed that the Congress would support the no-confidence motion if they moved. Lambasting the NDA Government for not implementing the provisions of AP Reorganisation Act and the assurances given by the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Rajya Sabha, he said heads of the government might change but the system of the governance does not. “Decisions of the previous head have to be carried out by the present head of the government. But unfortunately, the present head is reluctant to follow it,” he said, squarely blaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the present situation.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu who accepted the special package in lieu of SCS, is now crying foul. The CM is shying away from confronting the Centre on injustice to AP, he said.
