Amaravati Development Corporation Ltd to rope in private players for Amaravati Central Park

Three five-star hotels, one entertainment park to come up in the 300-acre facility.

VIJAYAWADA:  With the greenery works at the Amaravati Central Park underway, the Amaravati Development Corporation Ltd (ADCL) is now focusing on roping in private players to develop other components of the park. The ADCL has decided to take up works for three five-star hotels and an entertainment centre in about 16 acres of the 300-acre park initially.

As the Amaravati Central Park is expected to become the most sought-after tourist spot in Amaravati once it is ready, the ADCL has chalked out a strategy to have the facilities ready in a phased manner. “ The greenery work and garden development have already begun. As such, we have begun the process of identifying developers for private components of the park. We have issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) for three five-star hotels and one entertainment centre. The estimated cost of all the four projects is about `330-350 crore,” an official told TNIE.

Each project would come up in the four-acre area. While the estimated cost of each five-star hotel is 100 crore, the entertainment centre is expected to cost 30-50 crore. “Each star hotel is planned to have 100 rooms, and will be developed in a phased manner,” the official explained. The entertainment centre would have facilities such as a multiplex, food court, retail shopping mall and other amusement zones.

It may be recalled that eight-star hotel groups had evinced interest when AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) held pre-bid meetings. So, the ADCL is expecting a good response to the project.
“Since the park lies near the Amaravati Government Complex and has direct connectivity to major roads, we expect the footfall to be high. We aim to conclude the EOI process by the first week of August. Then we would release a Request For Proposal to finalise the developer,” another official observed.
