WARANGAL: Leaders, officials, intellectuals and students paid floral tributes to Telangana ideologue Prof K Jayashankar and recalled his yeomen services on his seventh death anniversary in the district on Thursday.Speaker S Madhusudana Chary garlanded the statue of Jayashankar at KU Circle and paid homage. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Prof Jayashankar awakened in the people of Telangana the need of a separate State.
The state government was working towards fulfilling the dreams of Jayashankar and launching several welfare programmes for all sections of society. “Prof Jayashankar was the guiding force behind Telangana movement. His name will always remain in the heart of the people of Telangana,” he said.
Warangal West MLA D Vinay Bhaskar also paid homage to the professor and recalled his services.
Former PCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah garlanded his statue in the city and paid homage. Students of KU, intellectuals and teachers also paid respects to Prof Jayashankar.
