Civil Supplies Corporation gets new chairman

Challa Ramakrishna Reddy took charge as the Chairman of Civil supplies Corporation here at the State Civil Supply office on Saturday. 

VIJAYAWADA:  Challa Ramakrishna Reddy took charge as the Chairman of Civil supplies Corporation here at the State Civil Supply office on Saturday. After taking oath, he assured people that a decision on wage hike for Hamali workers will be taken in the next board meeting. He inspected the civil supplies godown in Nuzvid and directed officials to ensure an on-time supply of ration to white ration holders. Addressing the media, Reddy said all white ration card holders were getting supplied high-quality food-material on time.

“We will conduct an inspection in all 268 mandal-level stock points in the state to ensure quality and quantity. Soon, ration will be delivered at their doorstep,” he said. Employees of Civil supplies Corporation played a crucial role in running it on a budget of Rs 10,000 crore, he added.

Meanwhile, Telugu Desam leaders Budda Rajasekhar Reddy and Meenakshi Naidu, who had gone to the office to participate in the swearing-in ceremony, were stuck in a lift for 15 minutes due to a technical snag. Technicians broke the door open and rescued them.Deputy chief minister KE Krishnamurthy, Civil supplies department minister Prathipati Pulla Rao, I&PR minister Kalva Srinivasulu and State Food commission chairman JR Pushparaj attended the ceremony as chief guests.
