VIJAYAWADA: Civil Supplies Chairman Challa Ramakrishna Reddy inspected Mandal level stock (MLS) point in Gudivada on Tuesday and said commodities at beneficiaries doorstep will be implemented soon, along with the supply of chilli powder and iodised salt.

During an inspection, Ramakrishna Reddy interacted with ration dealers and asked them to supply essential commodities regularly to the ration card holders without fail. He inquired about the distribution system of essential commodities to 194 ration shops under the limits of Gudivada MLS point and assured Hamalis that labour cost for loading/unloading per bag was revised from `15 to `18.

“Hamalis, working at all 268 MLS points, will get revised payment from the next January. We are committed to service of the poor by supplying quality essential commodities to them,” Ramakrishna Reddy said.

When he heard of irregularities being committed by ration dealers, he said, “Respective in-charges will be suspended immediately if any irregularities noticed. They should monitor the distribution process.”
