VIJAYAWADA:  The additional commissioner of AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA), S Shan Mohan, instructed the contractors executing the government housing projects to ensure that all the slab works are completed by the end of October. Subsequently, the other works have to be completed by December, he told them.

In a review meeting on Friday, the additional commissioner took stock of the works progress and said the government plans to hand over the houses for possession by February. “Expedite the pile foundation works wherever they are going on. Prepare strategies to complete different phases of construction such as foundation, slab and others,” he instructed the contractors.

It may be recalled that 3,840 housing units in 61 multi-storeyed towers are being built to accommodate MLAs, MLCs, All India Services officers and other government staff. Earlier in the day, the CRDA officials cleared five out of the nine applications during the open forum for instant disposal of development permit applications. Meanwhile, the revenue department issued a government order alienating around 1700 acres of land classified as canal near Pala Vagu, in favour of CRDA for development.
