Chandrababu Naidu wants Andhra Pradesh to become destination for water sports

He also sought cooperation of the public in organising the programme successfully as such events would bring international fame to the State.

VIJAYAWADA: Expressing his desire to make Andhra Pradesh a destination for water sports, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed  officials to prepare a road map to achieve the goal.“By organising boat racing, flying boats, aquabikes and other water sporting events, we can attract tourists from various parts from within the country and abroad,’’ he said.

Reviewing the arrangements with officials on Wednesday for the three-day F1H2O boat racing championship on Krishna river from November 16, at the Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi, he said that elaborate arrangement should be made for the successful conduct of the prestigious event.

He also sought the cooperation of the public in organising the programme successfully as such events would bring international fame to the State.

“As Amaravati is attracting the attention of the world, such events involving the participation from various countries and will help the State earn international fame,” the chief minister observed.

Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya, Secretary (CM) G Sai Prasad, Tourism Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena, AP Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer Himanshu Shukla, Krishna district collector B Lakshmikantham, Vijayawada Commissioner of Police Dwaraka Tirumala Rao and others were present on the occasion.
