VIJAYAWADA: For third consecutive year, Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam performed ‘Koti Deepotsavam’ atop Indrakeeladri on Thursday with traditional gaiety with the participation of large number of devotees marking Karthika Pournami.
Visakha Sarada Peetham peethadipathi (high priest) Sri Swarupananda Saraswati lit the first lamp after the temple priests performed Ganapati puja and other special rituals. The high priest explained the significance of Koti Deepotsavam.
Executive Officer V Koteswaramma’s daughter Devi Sri performed the traditional Kuchipudi ballet on the occasion.Devotees of all age groups, especially scores of women thronged the hill shrine to take part in the ritual.
