350 women offer one crore bangles to Durga in Vijayawada

Speaking on the occasion, the EO said that every year the devasthanam has been performing this special ritual by offering bangles to the Goddess.

VIJAYAWADA: Around 350 devotees took out a procession from Chitti Nagar to Indrakeeladri and offered one crore bangles worth of Rs 70 lakh to Goddess Kanaka Durga.

For the first time, devotees from Chirala in Prakasam district performed special rituals and offered one crore bangles to the presiding deity under the banner of Shanmukha Mahila Samajam, Sri Kaivalya Kruti Seva Sangam and Siva Datta Kshetram. Temple Executive Officer (EO) V Koteswaramma welcomed the women. 

Speaking on the occasion, the EO said that every year the devasthanam has been performing this special ritual by offering bangles to the Goddess. This year too, the ritual will be conducted and the bangles given by the devotees will be offered to the presiding deity of the shrine atop Indrakeeladri hill, she said. 
The date of the ritual will be confirmed soon, she added.
