VIJAYAWADA: Sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force (CTF) conducted a raid at a house in Kolavenu Street under Kankipadu police station limits on Thursday and seized firecracker stock worth Rs 10 lakh. Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police P Muralidhar raided the house.

The accused, Vankadaru Narasimha Rao (55), purchased firecrackers and stored them in the house without a valid licence.

The CTF police handed over the accused to Kankipadu police and requested residents to inform them if they see anyone purchasing or storing firecrackers illegally by dialling 100 or by sending a WhatsApp message to 7328909090.

“Severe action will be taken against the violators as they are putting the safety of residents at risk,” said the Assistant Commissioner of Police.
