VIJAYAWADA: A 25-year-old girl lodged a complaint with the Bhavanipuram police on Monday night stating she was cheated of Rs 75,000 in the name of a ‘lucky draw’.

The victim was identified as Shaik Bibi, a resident of Old Housing Board Colony Shaik Bibi, and reportedly worked as a sales person at a private company.  As per her complaint, Bibi received a phone call from an unidentified person on October 22 and was told that she had won a car in the lucky draw for the online purchase she made on October 6.

Believing his words, Bibi deposited Rs 75,000 in a bank account in three phases. She realised she was cheated when the fraud switched off his phones on Monday.
