Frameboxx, which has centres all over the country, offers the finest bouquet of courses to cater to animation aspirants. The courses have been designed around a true animation film production cycle that begins with intensive pre-production.

During production, students are introduced to the flagship methodology of skill-specialisation that aims to hone skills in a specific direction so that one doesn’t end up aimless without an expertise or command on a specific process. All throughout, a student’s appetite for learning animation is kept up by innovative workshops, industry interactions and competitions to keep the competing spirit right.

The centre in Bhubaneswar, which opened last year, already has 96 students pursuing varied courses like Red Boxx 1, Red Boxx 1x, Red Boxx 2, Red Boxx 3, Green Boxx 1, Green Boxx 1 lite, Green Boxx 2, Green Boxx 2 Lite, Green Boxx 3 and Blue Boxx 2.

The duration of the courses differ. While the Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), UK, certifed courses continue for more than two years, the others are short-term that last six to seven months.

The ARU-certified courses are those that involve high-end training with specialisation in various aspects of filmmaking. The infrastructure is one of the best in all of East India and the course curriculum is divided into theory and practical classes. Specialisation is also offered on subjects like CG asset creation, character animation and VFX and post process.

‘’Our students also get involved in local projects like designing ads and promos,” says Vipul Kumar Gahlaut, the technical head of Frameboxx Bhubaneswar. “And they charge Rs 3,000 to Rs 9,000 per second depending on the work and the client. Every single project is not less than 30 seconds. We provide them assistance by providing the right software and technology and also guide them.’’

At Frameboxx, emphasis is given on creating a demo reel or a portfolio of the student’s best work. “This is aimed at marketing his/her animation skills to a potential studio or production house,” says Sasmita Jena, centre head. “And once the reel is ready, we link it up to the best production houses in the country through integrated campus placements and interview sessions.”

A group of four students from the centre have already received placement offers from Prime Focus Studios. They’re earning around a lakh from private projects even before they complete their course.
