Glim’s unique retail management programme
Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai, recently launched a Postgraduate eXecutive Programme in Retail Management for mid and senior level managers (graduates with at least eight years of work experience). It aims to help them identify, understand, assess and leverage the changing dynamics of Indian retailing.
Put together by the Great Lakes’ Centre for Excellence in Retail Management, this two-year programme will also suit family managed retail business owners. The curriculum plans to engage its participants with blended action learning, Quasi consulting and peer learning. Each year will have a nine-day residency followed by three residencies of four days each (300 in-class contact hours). They will also have to complete a dissertation in the second year. SLIET’s offering for aspiring engineers
Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET), Longowal, Punjab, established by MHRD, Govt of India, provides technical education in the fields of engineering and technology. The Institute has introduced a three-year Integrated Certificate Diploma (ICD) and a BE from the academic year 2014-15 where 75 per cent seats will be reserved for the students of Punjab in the diploma. A Class X graduate can opt to do the diploma and BE in six years. If he/she completes two years of the diploma, they will be given a certificate equivalent to Class XII.
On completion of the ICD, 50 per cent students will be promoted to second year of BE. They can further opt for MTech/MBA/PhD. For fee details and admission procedure, visit www.sliet.ac.in. They are also offering lateral entry for PG and diploma. Be admission is through JEE (Main) and counselling by Central Seat Allocation Board. MSc admissions are through PU-CET(PG). Doon university opens admissions
Established by an Act of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly in 2005, Doon University, Dehradun, has opened admissions to various programmes (bachelor’s, master’s, PG diplomas, MPhil and PhD) for the next academic year. Their entrance test will be held on June 8. Interested candidates must apply before June 2. The application form and prospectus can be obtained by paying `600 in person or sending a DD of Rs. 650.
