Bringing Learners and Experts Together

Aditya Malik was always passionate about technology and learning. He has worked at companies like General Electric and Bank of America in roles as varied as sales, operations, risk management and Human Resources. He started Talentedge in 2012, which was incubated by the private equity fund Lumis Partners, to bring together affordable and engaging learning content from institutes like IIM-Calcutta, XLRI-Jamshedpur, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, MICA-Ahmedabad and IIT-Roorkee. Lumis Partners has in-depth business expertise in HR, technology and education verticals.

Talentedge, an online platform, allows live, interactive sessions with some of the best faculty at these partner institutions, and has made an impact on over seven lakh learners till date. “Our products and services are targeted at individuals and corporates to enable learning with a purpose, and instill a sense of self-belief while showcasing a direct link to career progression and job effectiveness,” explains Malik.

For individual learners, TalentEdge offers programmes like the Certificate in Marketing and Brand Management from MICA, Ahmedabad; PG Certificate Programme in Business Management from IIFT, New Delhi; Programme in Corporate Finance for Business Managers from XLRI, Jamshedpur; and Executive Certificate Programme in Human Resource Management from SHRM, Gurgaon.

For corporates, they have developed industry programmes and product modules that address specific learning gaps for the organisation. They could be programmes for the sales or product team to impact the bottom line, or for governmental organisations rolling out new processes. Their consultative learning approach allows quick delivery of the programmes on the platform, where the business impact can be measured. More than 70 blue chip companies have been covered by TalentEdge till date.

“We first approached MICA to run a digital marketing certification course on our virtual platform. After a demo of the technology platform, we formulated the course content keeping in mind the competition. We then reached out to working professionals through digital marketing, which generated a good buzz for the course. Our counsellors were able to successfully enrol a batch of 90 students for the first programme that we rolled out,” recalls Malik about the early days.

The premium executive education courses cost between Rs 50,000 and Rs 2 lakh. The corporate learning solutions are priced based on the learning gaps and targeted interventions. TalentEdge intends to build a robust pipeline of sought-after courses that are highly individualistic and cutting-edge. They hope to earn a revenue of about Rs 52 crore this year.

Malik says that corporate life taught him attention to detail. When he is not out on business or networking, Malik enjoys spending time with his family, travelling and watching Bollywood movies.
