VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has planned to operate 100 special bus services between Vijayawada and Hyderabad on Thursday to enable employees and people to travel to their native places in Telangana to cast their votes on December 7, said APSRTC Chief Traffic Manager (CTM) KS Brahmananda Reddy.

However, passengers have to pay more than the normal ticket fare to use these special services, he added.
Speaking to TNIE on Wednesday, Reddy said that the Vijayawada region of APSRTC operates 270 scheduled bus services per day from Pandit Nehru Bus Station (PNBS) to various destinations in Hyderabad.

‘’We expect a passenger rush to Hyderabad till the weekend as the Andhra Pradesh government has granted leave on Friday to the employees registered as voters in Telangana,” he said.

Around 1,000 seats were vacant in various air-conditioned and non-air conditioned buses travelling to Hyderabad, Brahmananda Reddy said, adding that based on the demand, arrangements will be made to operate extra services from Hyderabad to Vijayawada to ensure a hassle-free journey back to the city.
Reddy appealed to the passengers to book tickets in advance by visiting the website www.apsrtc.online.com.
