GADWAL: TRS leader T Harish Rao cautioned the people of Gadwal that the Congress would discontinue the flagship schemes launched by the TRS and jeopardise the growth trajectory that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had put the State on.

“They are saying that they would discontinue schemes like Shaadi Mubarak and Rythu Bandhu, if they come to power. Has the Congress ever given at least `10,000 to ensure that the daughters are married?” he asked while predicting a gloomy state of welfare if the Congress is voted to power. Rao was speaking at a public meeting in Gadwal.

On the criticism faced by the TRS for failing to deliver its 2BHK house scheme, Rao assured that `5 lakh will be given to those in need enabling them to construct houses of their liking.

He also spoke about the water scarcity — a pertinent issue faced by the people of Gadwal, especially the resident of  Darur mandal. “You have given your votes to the Congress for so many years now. Have they ever ensured that you all got clean drinking water?” he asked while taking on the Congress. He urged the electors to ensure that Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy of the TRS is won with a majority.
