NICK, the entertainment channel for kids, is celebrating Dora the Explorer’s 10th anniversary by a contest that allows participants to be Dora’s best explorer friend.
By answering simple questions during the show, Dora fans can have great fun with their favourite toon. What’s more, kids will also learn the joys of clay modelling and book reading, among others.
Designed with the aim to encourage effective parent-child interaction, the contest will also see Dora cover the length and breadth of the country to meet her young fans in person.
Dora will travel across Landmark stores in Bangalore on 6th August, Chennai on the 7th and Hyderabad on the 8th, followed by Gurgaon and Mumbai on the 14 th and 15th respectively. Nick has also launched a special Landmark Gift Card, which can be redeemed for any Nick merchandise available at Landmark stores across India including the online stores.
“As an animated play-along series for pre-schoolers, Dora the Explorer helps to bridge this gap between mindless entertainment and child learning,” said Nina Elavia Jaipuria, senior vice president and general manager, Nick India.
“When we started 10 years back, we wanted to make Dora the learning icon for kids. With this objective in mind, every episode was conceptualised in such a way that learning becomes fun for kids,” said Chris Gifford, creator of Dora.
Screened in 125 countries and translated in 24 different languages, Dora the Explorer is one of the most widely watched shows by preschoolers in the world.
