Big Boss 7: Is Salman biased?

Big Boss 7: Is Salman biased?

Salman Khan is undoubtedly synonymous with Big Boss, the name which assures TRP for the show during weekends.

There have been several hosts starting with Arshad Warsi, Shipa Shetty, Big B and even Sanju Baba, but the popularity that comes with Salman Khan couldn’t be matched. Probably this is the reason why the producers were of the opinion that Salman comes back for the seventh season.

While one might agree that the current season has been the worst so far when it comes to fighting, swearing or personal vendettas; this is also the first time that Salman is being accused of being biased.

While no other hosts chose to involve themselves in the in-house politics or fights, Salman Khan takes a different stand. He never misses a chance in expressing his opinions and saying what is wrong and right. He not only entertains the audience with his moves and jokes on weekends but is also vocal about issues that raised conflicts inside the house throughout the week.

While audiences like him for his attitude and interaction with the housemates, they also criticize him for being biased.

Salman Khan who is known for his carefree attitude was seen being extremely polite towards Tanisha  and Arman while being tough with Gauhar Khan and Kushal Tandon.

Pratishtha Sharma, a regular viewer of Big Boss told TNIE Online that she thinks, Salman Khan has different rules for different people.

“I don’t think he should pick sides. Armaan can abuse as much as he wants but Kushal can’t state facts. It’s not right that Tanisha can push Kushal thrice but Kushal can’t touch Andy in anger over a woman’s image. Either you punishe both in a similar way or reprimand them equally,” said Pratishtha.

Tanisha who is superstar Kajol’s sister and Salman’s friend Ajay Devgan’s sister-in-law, has been quite a disappointment and has not been able to display a strong personality. Salman is seen on several occasions suggesting to Tanisha politely, to avoid physical intimacy from Arman and try portraying a better image of herself for the sake of “womanhood.”

Another incident that sparked controversy was after Kushal made a comeback. It has been said that Salman was against the wildcard entry, although the superstar made it very clear on the show that he has better things in life to do than to spend his energy on such issues.

TNIE Online spoke to several audiences who believe that the superstar is just and fair. Mamta Baloni, a Big Boss fan doesn’t agree that Salman is completely biased. “He helped Andy a lot after Kushal came back said things about Andy to Arman,” said Baloni.

While mostly the contents of such reality shows are known to be scripted one might wonder whether there is any necessity for a superstar like Salman Khan to take special interest in the happenings of the house.
