Dhruva Natchathiram an international film: Gautham

Director Gautham Vasudev Menon was a troubled man a few weeks ago, with court cases dogging him following a tiff with a former co-producer. But now, it looks like he has bounced back with his energy and zing and is all set to begin work on his next flick with Surya, Dhruva Natchathiram.

Speaking to CE, Gautham says, “It will be an international film. We will be shooting in several cities around the world. We will be shooting in several Indian cities as well. ”

The Surya-Gautham combo has yielded a new look for Surya in the past. Will there be a makeover here too? “Surya will return from Singham  and join our unit after a 15-day gap, in June. So, we don’t have much time for an image makeover now. But, we may go in for it later,” he says.

CE has learnt that  art director Rajeevan is busy working on the sets for the film. Apparently, a giant set of Kolkata’s  Sonagachi, one of the largest red-light areas in Asia, is being set up. So, we guess  Kolkata will be one of the cities featured in the story. Also, sets of big government buildings and a giant set for action scenes, where big explosions will take place, are also being put up. Gautham adds, “It’s going to be a big budget action film.”

The screen testing for 12 major characters is going on at present, including that of the main villain.
