Vidyullekha Raman, who made her debut in films with Gautham Menon’s Neethane En Ponvasantham, has a reason to smile. In Tamil, she has director Sundar C’s Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru and director Siva’s Ajith-Tamannaah-starrer untitled film in her kitty.
Interestingly, the actor, who played Santhanam’s girlfriend in NEP, is paired with the comedian in both her upcoming films. “Santhanam and I share a good rapport and we seem to have hit it off again,” she says.
Vidyu, daughter of renowned actor Mohan Raman, says she is happy to work with actor Ajith. “I am looking forward to meet Thala soon,” says Vidyu, who has been shooting for the film in Hyderabad.
In Telugu, she is part of Harish Shankar’s Ramayya Vastha(RV) and Weekend Love. The former has Jr NTR, Samantha and Shruti Haasan in lead roles. Vidyu says she plays a happy-go-lucky girl in RV and a bossy software engineer in Weekend Love.
Vidyu, however, says people are of the view that only comedy is her cup of tea. “I am capable of performing serious roles as well,” says this theatre artiste, who has been associated with Evam, Madras Players and Landing Stage. Theatre has been a great platform to hone her acting skills.
“My college (MOP Vaishnav) helped me form our own theatre group and we even took it to the national level and since then there is no looking back,” says this viscom graduate.
