Celebrating 80 years of music

Hrudayasarassile, a show by Dakshinaa, will celebrate the 80 years of music of legendary music maestro V Dakshinamurthi, who is also known as Sangeetha Saraswathi.

Having performed his first kutcheri at the age of 13, he was a rare talent. In his career spanning eight decdes, Dakshinamurthy, a living legend, continues to inspire music lovers.

His biggest gift to the world of music is the bringing together of classical music and film music. Beginning his stint in the movie industry as a composer with Malayalam film Nallathanga in 1948, the composer has 400 films to his credit.

He has three books penned and published by him in Tamil  —  Aathmadeepam, Sathyamithram and Thiagabrahmam.

The event will see an array of personalities from the industry, including vocalists, lyricists, actors and singers, participating in celebrating the works by a musical genius.

The event will be held on July 28 at 4 pm on St George Anglo Indian School Ground, Poonamalle High Road.
