Soha Ali Khan is back in the role of a journalist in Bollywood’s first ever war comedy
In the line of fire

Never mind her list of hits and misses, Soha Ali Khan clearly believes in pushing the envelope when it comes to her roles. Though she had just one release last year (Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster Returns), her Ranjana won her rave reviews. This year looks promising with three different films lined up. In what is being promoted as Bollywood’s first war comedy, War Chhod Na Yaar, she plays a funky journalist plus, there is Jo Bhi Karva Lo and Chaarfutya Chhokkare. More from the actor.

In War Chhod Na Yaar I cover incidents that happen at the border. I don’t know how different my role is different from others but I understand my character.

I have been working on on a social thriller Chaarfutia Chhokare. There is no hero and it deals with child trafficking. Then there is this out-and-out comedy, Jo Bhi Karva Lo with Arshad Warsi, where I play a cop.

There are times, I have said yes to a movie even without knowing what my character is. I do take advice from my brother and others but I like to have the final word.

There are several exciting themes that are coming up right now. Today we have sex comedies and modern age romance. We have moved on from cricket and are making movies like Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Mary Kom. I would love to do murder mystery and a thriller with romance.

I have made some bad decisions in life. There have been flops but each movie has been an experience. That said, I am not creatively satisfied. I haven’t done that one role that defines my movie career.

It is a big step for me to have moved in with Kunal Khemu. Though we have taken our vows without signing any papers, what matters is loyalty and commitment, which is all there. He has been a great support. Living in is equal to marriage, because you share so much.

Things haven’t changed after Bhai and Kareena got married. I actually feel Kareena is more reliable punctual and dependable than my brother.

War Chhod Na Yaar is sceduled to release later this year
