LOS ANGELES: ‘Wonder Woman’ is the highest-grossing live-action movie ever by a female director and now, the director feels that the success of the movie will open more doors for the ladies.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the director hopes that the success of the film will lead to change and lead to other people getting opportunities.
Adding, “I hope women become a diverse, easy hire for all sorts of jobs in the future.”
She told this to the reporters during a conference call ahead of the film's home entertainment release.
As the film continues to dominate, surpassing USD 400 million at the domestic box office and passing other superhero hits like ‘Iron Man’, ‘Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and ‘Suicide Squad,’ it “exceeded all of the projections, although not our own hopes.”
‘Wonder Woman’ has been a juggernaut, surpassing the USD 400 million mark domestically and passing many recent superhero films at the box office.
The movie becomes the highest-earning superhero origin movie ever in US, beating Sam Raimi’s ‘Spiderman,’ which held the spot for 15 years.
Meanwhile, Patty Jenkins is in final talks to helm the sequel of 'Wonder Woman' as the director is close to signing a record-breaking deal for the second part.
