20th Century Studios dropped the trailer of the upcoming science fiction action thriller, The Creator, on Wednesday. Headlined by John David Washington, the film will hit the theatres on September 29.
The trailer showcases the human versus Artificial Intelligence war in the future.
The trailer opens with a brief shot of futuristic-type buildings indicating the backdrop of the plot. Then the shot cuts to Joshua, played by John David Washington, where a child inquires Joshua whether he will go to heaven or not.
He replies, “No. You’ve got to be a good person to go heaven,” implying the worst awaiting or has been endured by Joshua. As the trailer progresses, we learn that humanity has been in a war zone against AI. An official clarifies, “ As long as AI is a threat, we will never stop hunting them.”
Written, directed and produced by Gareth Edwards, The Creator features an ensemble cast including Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, Sturgill Simpson, Allison Janney, and Madeleine Yuna Voyles. The film has a script penned by Gareth Edwards along with Chris Weitz. Kiri Hart, Jim Spencer, and Arnon Milchan are co-producing the film with Gareth Edwards.
