Excited about the Friday release of action drama Tezz, the 52- year-old actor says that he wanted to explore the genre anew before he grows older.

“I think it is very natural phenomenon as what you could do 10 years back that you can’t do today, you have to change with time and temperament and age and you try to do your best.

You try to do what suits you and what you are capable of and sometimes you try to stretch yourself, saying you can work hard more.

There is a lot of action and running scenes that I have tried to do my best in the movie,” the actor said.

Kapoor will next be seen in Tezz, Shootout at Wadala and Race 2, besides the American TV series 24, which will be made here for the Indian audience.

“I am preparing myself for this genre.

I have always done films of this genre like Tezaab, Rakhwala, Kishen Kanhaiya, Laadla and Meri Jung.

These films had dramatic action sequences, which people (actors) are doing again with Singham, Wanted etc.

I have done this kind of films and they have been successful.

For other actors all this kind of action is new thing but not for me.

What I am trying is to do it differently,” he said.

Kapoor feels that Hollywood superstar Jackie Chan has been the source of inspiration for this kind of dramatic action in India which was Indianised by the directors from south.

“Since quite sometime this kind of films were not being made and now people find them entertaining.

This is like antakshari.

They are using concepts of old films and people are liking it.

Today, people enjoy fast, superstitious, artificial things.” Acknowledging that the actions films are doing well at box office, the actor said, “Today it is weekend business.

A film earning `30 crore on the weekend is termed as hit.”Speaking of his films like Parinda and 1942 A Love Story, the actor believes even his grandchildren will be proud of.

His next release is Priyadarshan’s actionthriller Tezz alongside Ajay Devgn, Zayed Khan, Kangana Ranuat and Sameera Reddy.

IN THE FAST LANE

Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn took over the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) racing track to promote their upcoming film Tezz.

Both the actors tried their hands on the Italian super sports car and were fascinated by its speed on the 5.14 km-track.

The highest speed at which we drove today was 260 kmph.

I’ve never done such an act before in my life,” Anil commented post the casual race, in which Ajay was faster.
