Retro gangster turns IPS officer for Dussehra

While in his previous film, Neil Nitin Mukesh played the role of a retro gangster, in his forth coming movie he will be seen essaying the role of an IPS officer in the crime branch, in Dussehra, produced by Aparna Hoshing and directed by Manish Vatsalya.  Starring opposite to him on the big screen will be actress Tena Desae who plays the role of an IPS Officer. This is the first time for both Neil and Tena  essaying roles of Cops.Excited about his Cop Avataar, Neil says, “It’s a very unique storyline and am thrilled to be a part of this film. Ever since I heard the story line, I have ardently been researching life of bureaucrats, to give more depth to my character in the film. I have the utmost respect for our Indian Bureaucrats. There are some truly awe inspiring stories that go unnoticed, thanks to Manish’s research these have come in handy for me to prepare for this role. Manish and Aparna have put together a great project”.  Manish who himself plays a pivotal role in the film apart from donning the director’s hat, says “Neil was my first choice for this role. I have been watching his films and the offbeat path that he is been treading, I felt he could bring the character of Rudra Pratap Singh live on screen. Designer Mehul Thakkar and I have worked on the looks of Neil and Tena. One will see a very different Neil in Dussehra.”Equally excited is Tena. “This will also be my first time playing the role of a cop. I play a tough lady cop in the Hindi gangland and feel lucky to get a meaty role in my second film itself and with Neil as my co actor. I am super excited. I am eagerly waiting for the filming to begin.”Dussehra is a political thriller based on a true story of crime and politics. The film evolves from the backdrop of a politically destabilised state, places which symbolise politician mafia network, a place of heinous crimes, cunning politicians, reckless criminals, the film Dussehra is dedicated to bureaucrats of India. Dussehra is a story of a genuine cop who gets stuck in adverse circumstances. The film goes on floor on  March 11 and is slated for release this dasara . The film is being produced by Aparna Hoshing under the banner of Rash Productions.
