'I Can Perform Eight Forms Of Dancing'

Urvashi Rautela, who made her debut opposite Sunny Deol in Singh Saab The Great (2013) and shot to fame with the Honey Singh video ‘Love Dose’ is making waves with her item number ‘Daddy Mummy’ in the new Kunal Khemu starrer Bhaag Johnny.

Excerpts from an interview:

Your Bhaag Johnny song ‘Daddy Mummy’ has become surprisingly popular.

It is really getting great reviews and all thanks to my fans. Everyone loves the song, the entire style and the look. It is already a hit track in  the South.

You started off as a heroine. Did you have any reservations about doing an item number?

I did it because it is a great track and a good opportunity for me. Gifty, who has directed many of Honey Singh songs like ‘Desi Kalakar,’ was directing the song and I couldn’t ask for more. I am very passionate about dancing. I can perform eight different forms of dancing and this is just an extension of that.

Kunal Khemu is also a good dancer. What was it like to match steps with him?

He is a very warm and a nice guy. I still remember how we both were so worried about the costumes for this song. He told me, ‘Urvashi, I look like a rapper (laughs)’!

After ‘Love Dose’ with Honey Singh, do you wish to be a part of more music videos?

Honey Singh is a part of Bhaag Johnny (he has sung for another song in the film) and the song is superb. If I like a music video, I will definitely do it.

Which are your upcoming films?

I have a three-movie deal with T-series. The first, Sanam Re, is releasing on Valentine’s day next year. I am also doing Great Grand Masti with the three boys — Ritesh Dekhmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani.

What is your role in Sanam Re?

It is a triangular love story between Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam and me and we are all important characters in the film. You will see me romancing Pulkit. This film has great songs. We recently got done with the title track in Shimla and we will be shooting for a romantic track in Canada next. I play an urban girl who is an NRI and my role is sort of inspired by Kim Kardashian!

What about your role in Great Grand Masti?

It is a challenging role. I play the girlfriend of all the three boys ... they all chase her.

Have you watched the earlier Masti movies?

Yes, I have seen them and I loved what Ajay Devgn and Lara Dutta did in the film.

Buzz is that you are also doing a film with Ramesh Taurani.

Yes, Ambarsariya is a romantic comedy opposite Diljit Dosanjh, who is currently working for Udta Punjab.
