The clash between Dilwale (2015) and Bajirao Mastani (2015) was made out to be one of the biggest battles in cinematic history but it has not affected the bonhomie between the heroes of the two films. Ranveer modestly fends off talk of comparisons with a paean of praises for the senior star. The young actor says, “SRK has so much depth and range as an actor. Whatever we have seen of Mr Khan is just the tip of the iceberg. I recently said this about Kareena too — she is so talented.

SRK.jpgThey are actors and hence they are stars. They can connect to people’s hearts and that’s why they are stars. It is just unfortunate that our films came out on the same day; comparisons are inevitably drawn, but there is no comparison. There has never been anyone like him. He has achieved greatness. I have worked for five years; he has worked for 25 years. He has done five times the amount of work I have done.” What’s more, Ranveer readily reveals that he has a good off-screen equation with Shah Rukh. “I was hanging out with him the other day,” he says amiably. “He is still so humble and grounded. He still meets me the same way he met me when I was a newcomer, with an equal amount of love and warmth. We don’t discuss films or performances. We talk random rubbish which I can’t reveal. He is hilarious and fun to hang out with.”
