Director Ashutosh Gowariker is known for making elaborately scaled films like Lagaan, Jodha Akbar and the upcoming Mohenjo Daro that features not just A-list actors but also a strong cast of supporting actors. An obvious believer in correct casting, the filmmaker has now launched, with Karan Johar, a talent-recruitment website called Talent Next.

The country.jpgHe is of the strong belief that the country needs more stars.   “The country needs to love more and more heroes and heroines,” Ashutosh stated at the launch.

“There are filmmakers who launch faces but that’s once in one or two years. Like Karan did with Student of the Year and I am doing with Mohenjo Daro (he has cast newcomer Pooja Hegde as Hrithik Roshan’s leading lady).”

Explaining his casting process, Ashutosh revealed, “We work with multiple casting directors. When we need an actor to fit the requirement, it doesn’t matter who provides the required person. During Jodha Akbar we were searching for the cast and it took time.  But now with a portal like this, it will be easy to get the required talent.”
