Tanmay's Joke goes out of hand, but where are his 'friends'?

Tanmay responded to the controversy in a series of tweets asking Snapchat to pay him.

Comedian Tanmay Bhat's Snapchat video mocking Lata Mangeshkar and Sachin Tendulkar sparked controversy as the country debated what is funny and what is not.

All political parties in Maharashtra sought strict actions against Bhat. Some of them even threatened to 'beat' him up if he was spotted anywhere in the state.

Tanmay on Monday responded to the controversy in a series of 'sacrastic' tweets asking Snapchat to pay him for the views, his video titled 'Sachin v/s Lata Civil War' fetched.

"When you guys write about me tomorrow can you please use my Snapchat ID", he said in one of his tweets.

While actors and singers like Anupam Kher, Sonu Nigham, Shaan, Riteish Deshmukh and many more reacted to Bhat's video, there were no reactions from Tanmay's close friends and fellow comedians from AIB, either supporting him or reprimanding his act.

His friends and AIB group members, Gursimran Khamba, Rohan Joshi, Ashish Shakya, Abish Mathew and Kaneez Surka have been eerily silent on the controversy. This, despite the fact that the last time the group was in controversy over the 'Roast', the entire team was 'one' in their defense.

Bollywood stars like Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who had defended AIB in the major controversy over the 'Roast' have also chosen a stoic silence this time.

There were no reactions from the senior actors and singers of Bollywood like Amitabh Bachchan, Naseeruddin Shah, Asha Bhosle, Hema Malini either.

It is also worth noting that, except Sachin's wife Anjali, who's known to be a private person, his friends and fellow team members from Indian cricket team like Rahul Dravid, Virendra Sehwag and Sourav Ganguly, have not reacted to the controversy.
