Amitabh Bachchan finds a fan in celebrated author Paulo Coelho

Paulo Coelho, author of best-selling novels like The Alchemist' and 'Tha Zahir' is mighty impressed with Amitabh Bachchan's acting in Ram Gopal Varma's 'Sarkar'.

Paulo Coelho, author of best-selling novels like The Alchemist' and 'Tha Zahir' is mighty impressed with Amitabh Bachchan's acting in Ram Gopal Varma's 'Sarkar'.

The author even went on to express his adulation for Bachchan's character Subhash Nagre from the film on his Twitter handle.

Coelho wrote: " After watching @SrBachchan 's "Sarkar" I cut the collar of my shirt like the main character's shirt (photo taken 3 mo ago)"

Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, 'Sarkar' (2005), largely inspired from 'The Godfather, had Amitabh Bachchan playing Subhash Nagre, play an ageing don who has retain his parallel government in Mumbai city. The film also starred Abhishek Bachchan, Kay Kay Menon and Katrina Kaif in major roles.

This is not the first time that the Brazilian author, a huge film buff, express his love for Indian movies and actors. He had previously talked about his love for Shah Rukh Khan's 2010 film, 'My Name is Khan'. 

Coelho had even gone on to say that Shah Rukh deserved an Oscar for the film of the Hollywood fraternity was not biased. In February 2008 he wrote on Twitter:

“’My Name is Khan and I am not a terrorist’

Congratulations @iamsrk for the 7th anniversary of this wonderful movie!”
