Ekta Kapoor sends notice to the makers of the Kannada film, Dirty Picture — Silk Sakkath Maga, stating that they don’t have any rights to use the title, Dirty Picture as Vidya Balan has won a National award for the film. “They have given us 5 days time to reply. We have now hired a lawyer and will send a reply to Balaji Telefilms. In our reply, we will mention, that the Bollywood film is titled The Dirty Picture while our title is Dirty Picture — Silk Sakkath Maga. In any case, our picture is no way concerned with the Hindi film. Our script is entirely different from theirs,” says Trishul, who will also consult the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC). “Did they ask Silk or their family before using Silk’s name. For that matter, Rajanikanth had his film Baba released in Tamil and we also had a film titled, Baba in Kannada. Ekta Kapoor has no right to prevent us from using the title Dirty Picture,” he asserts.
