Upendra, who celebrates his birthday today, was taken by surprise when he received a swanky gift from his wife Priyanka— a Jaguar.
“He is a gadget freak and does not drive much. This gift will probably encourage him to take the car out and go on a drive,” says Priyanka, who has always planned a surprise gift for his birthday.
“I have been planning for sometime to gift him something big. It is easy to please a woman with jewellery, but for men it is quite difficult to choose a gift. I could only think of a car this time round,” she says.
The car made a grand entry to his residence in a truck. “I did not want anybody else to drive the car and I didn’t want others to know about it. So I asked them to bring it covered with a satin cloth. When it landed in front of my house, I just told him ‘there is somebody waiting for you outside with some keys’ and that’s how the gift was given,” she reveals.
Upendra, who is announcing his film under his home banner has left the audience to decide on the title.
“He always wants to put the audience and his fans in a jigsaw when it comes to his title and films too,” says Priyanka, who is the producer of the movie, which will be directed by Upendra.
“I am totally excited with this new role. As for the title, he has kept it a secret even with me,” she adds.
The advertisement of his latest project has a picture of Upendra with one box consisting of Kannada letters, question marks, numbers, English alphabets, dollar sign, symbol, telephones, world map, flowers and more.
“People are already coming up with their own titles like Upendra 2 while some think it is Nanu. Like others, even I have to wait for my husband to reveal the title. More announcements are in the queue on his birthday,” she concludes.
