The music of Krishna Leela gets a different approach with the makers giving opportunities to fresh talent to write lyrics for the film. This film which is Ajai Rao’s first production, is directed by Shashank and its music is composed by Sridhar Sambram The team introduced Shivtejaswi, Sai Saravesh and Sriharsha who have written the lyrics for some of the songs for Krishna Leela. At the audio release of the event, Shashank said, “I wanted to hear some fresh lyrics in the songs and I found an opportunity to encourage some new writers with my film. I used to get a lot of emails and requests on Facebook asking me to give them a chance. That’s when I organised a contest asking people from all walks of life to send in lyrics and I received thousands of them. From those, I chose around four  to five writers and gave them the situations for the songs. Finally we chose the lyrics written by Shivtejaswi. Even Sai Saravesh was picked up from Facebook. Likewise I gave an opportunity to my assistant director Sriharsha, who also had a unique style of writing. The album consists of six songs with one duet, a song based on alcohol, a theme, a melody, a phone number-centric song and a thapanguchi.

Darshan who released the audio said, “The main reason for attending the audio release was Ajai. I wanted to encourage a young actor like him who started as an artist,  turned actor and has now come up with his own production house. I understand the difficulties of handling production which is not an easy job.”

Mayuri who is making her silver screen debut with Krishna Leela, along with Airavata director AP Arjun and Bullet Prakash was  among others present at the audio release.

The newly wedded Ajai Rao took no time off for his honeymoon and was  in Bengaluru to be a part of the audio launch. Taking on this new responsibility as a producer for Krishna Leela, he says, “When you have determination and confidence that you are stepping into good things in your life, you should also be sure that God is always there to protect you. I always have my mother’s blessings and I believe in her. I am happy to do something which gives work to people and also gives me a chance to give back to cinema, what it has given me. The audience have accepted me with open arms and I thought that a project by me was a best gift from me to all of them.”

Whether as an actor or a producer, Ajai feels that he has never lost his judgement. “I always look at cinema from the audience’s point of view.  As a producer, I have argued with Shashank my director and music director Sridhar for some variations. We did have numerous opinions before we concluded the album. Today we are all happy with the final output,” he says.

The film’s first copy will be out this week and will go to the censors soon. Ajai hopes to release the film by the end of Janaury. “I launched this project on my last birthday on January 24 and I want to release the film this year around my birthday as well. It may come earlier also, but it all depends on theatre availability,” he says.

Ajai introduces wife Swapna

Ajai used the audio launch of the film as an opportunity to introduce his wife. Ajai married Swapna last Thursday at Hosapete in a low-key wedding ceremony. When asked about his married life and what attracted him to Swapna, he says, “I can’t exactly explain but I felt the same comfort with her that I feel with my mother. We went around for one year and only then did we decide to get married. She was my fan but never felt that she was marrying a hero. She knew that she was marrying Ajai Rao and not an actor,” he says.
