Ramya to Act and Sing in Style King

Style King starring Ganesh and directed by P C Shekhar will be a special film for actress

BANGALORE: Style King starring Ganesh and directed by P C Shekhar will be a special film for actress Ramya Nambeesan as it will be her 50th film. Interestingly, Ramya will not only act in the film but will also sing all songs.

P C Shekhar says, "Ramya started off her film career as a singer and I was impressed when I heard one of her songs Fy Fy Fy Kalaachify in Tamil film Pandiya Naadu starring Vishal. The song was received well and was on the charts for a long time. Since she does not know Kannada she will not be able to dub for Style King, but she is excited to lend her voice for the film."

Ramya feels that Style King is a perfect film for her entry in Sandalwood. "Though, I got a lot of offers from the Kannada industry, I was looking for a good team to work with, which I found in Style King," she says.

"I started acting as a child artiste and the number of films are more because I have been part of Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam films. All films put together come up to around 50," she says.

Style King will go on floors from August 8 and Ramya will join the sets on August 11. Ganesh plays a double role in the film and she is paired with him when he plays a soft romantic role. "I wanted a new combination with Ganesh and I was looking for girl next-door kind of face and she fits the part perfectly. I watched her film Pizza 2 and liked her acting. So I chose her," explains Shekhar.

The director has tried to make the story different. "Generally a love story is written around the hero. I have written this story from the heroine's point of view. A girl faces a tough point in her life where she has to balance her family and love, which I have shown it through Ramya," he says.

Ganesh, who also plays a negative character in the movie, does not have another heroine paired for that part. "It is not necessary for every hero to have a heroine," Shekhar says.
