BANGALORE: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has decided to follow protocol instead of his party’s suggestion with regard to participating in programmes involving Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ignoring the Congress high command’s advice to its chief ministers that they avoid sharing the dais with the PM at public events, Siddaramaiah on Thursday said, “Just because someone says this, we can’t follow it. I will have to go by protocol.”
The BJP had on Thursday slammed the Congress over Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan’s decision to skip Modi’s programme in Nagpur, claiming the party was staying away as it felt “mocked”.
In turn, the Congress had said it was a conspiracy by the BJP to embarrass its leaders.
