Sruthi Hariharan has tasted sweet success through sheer hard work. And having proved herself in Lucia, she is all geared up for Sipayi, which she has just signed. According to the actress, her key to success has been to try different roles with divergent teams.

“After completing five films, I have come to terms with the cinema world. I make sure that I am thorough about every aspect of the project, which includes the understanding I share with the directors and trust and chemistry with my co-artistes. Of course, there are pros and cons, but it is a learning process,” admits Sruthi.

“Everybody knows why I took up Lucia,” the actress continues. “I followed it up with Dyvaare, which dealt with an entirely different subject. Though I took up Raate mainly for the banner, it was shot in natural settings, mostly on road, which I guess is a first for the Kannada industry. They have tried varied and unexplored locations of North Karnataka.

“Next is Savari 2, a road trip with much comedy. To be directed by Rajath Mayee, Sipayi has an interesting script and the film connects with social issues relevant to today’s world,” she says. On her next release Savari 2, Shruti states that the cast is strong with prominent actors like Girish Karnad, Srinagar Kitty, Karan Rao, Sadhu Kokila and Madhurima. And she is certain that the film is going to be a rib-tickler.

“Savari 2 will make everyone laugh out aloud; it is about intelligent humour,” she says. Talking of Jacob Varghese, Sruthi says, “He is an intelligent director who finished the film on time. He did not take any unnecessary shots either. He had a chart in front of him and everything went as planned. I have learnt a lot from him.” Likewise, she found actor Girish Karnad to very charismatic and her co-star Kitty, very down-to-earth. “Even at his age, Girish sir is totally fit and Kitty doesn’t consider himself a star. The journey of Savari 2 was wonderful. Now, the audience has to decide,” she says.
