When Social Media Irked Rakshit Shetty

Today, somebody’s popularity can be someone else’s ticket to meaningless fun. And with the presence of social media everywhere, the access to easy celebrityjood has become quite simple. All over the world, unidentified persons have been maintaining fake pages on social media and misusing names of celebrities. Lately, Sandalwood stars too have been perturbed by the way certain people use their fame.

Comedian Chikanna recently deactivated his Facebook account after an unidentified person misused his name and routinely chatted with girls. The cybercrime took action and arrested the miscreant. Rakshit Shetty also got a taste of this terrible trend. A person who had created a fake account under the name SimpleagOnduLoveStory on Facebook claimed that he was Rakshit Shetty and started chatting with people.

Rakshit, who is very active on social media, took immediate action. He wrote on his page that he has a verified page and he has no other profile. Rakshit posted the message on the fake account’s wall too. The actor got to know on Sunday that there were many other fake accounts being operated under his name. He has reported the menace to Facebook.

“A person who chatted with the fake account felt that it was not me and brought it to my notice. I immediately took action. Even Rishab Shetty, my friend and director of my film Ricky, got to know about it through another Facebook account holder. In fact, one of the fake profiles even had my name wrongly spelt. I was upset because so many fans had been chatting with wrong people thinking it was me,” he says and adds that just when he was investigating just who was using his name, the account was deleted. “Since Facebook has tried their best to put an end to users creating fake accounts using names of celebrities, it is always better to find authentic accounts by checking whether they are on a verified page,” he advises.
