Shanvi's Master Act

With Masterpiece all set to hit the theatres, the actress is confident that it will be a game changer for her career

Actress Shanvi Srivastava is treading cautiously in the southern film world, slowly garnering the adoration of audience in Telugu, Kannada and Tamil.

Having entered Sandalwood with Chandralekha in 2014, the Varanasi born actress is now awaiting the release of her much anticipated movie,

Masterpiece opposite Yash. “This is actually my third film in Kannada with Bhale Jodi yet to be released. I am thankful to director Manju

Mandvya, who considered me and it is my biggest project so far,” says the six films-old actress.

Made under Hombale films, Masterpiece, according to the actress, threw daily surprises while in the making. “I used to get the feeling that they had already planned to make a hit film rather than just another movie. In that way, I used to see something new and big every day. Actually, when I started, I didn’t know how big this film will be for me as I was also involved in my Telugu and Tamil projects. But on hindsight, I think, it has been a blessing for my career,” she says and adds that even before its release, she is getting attention. “Since Kannada industry is progressing really well, the buzz of Masterpiece has spread across other South Indian languages and I am getting good responses. Not that I am getting immediate offers, but I am being noticed, which is very important at this point of my career,” she asserts.

Shanvi says that her role is versatile and modern which has lot of funny elements connected to her. “This is the first time that I play a role where there is more of entertainment and comedy than just romance. With the team’s level of confidence, I am not at all worried,” she declares.

According to her, apart from the language problem, the film was an easy ride. “It involved a lot of hard work because the language is new and I had lengthy dialogues. More so, I have a few action scenes too where I will be seen jumping from a building using ropes. I did not use a body double and it was a good experience,” says Shanvi.

After getting those good responses from the teasers, all that the actress wishes to say is a line from one of the songs in the film, “‘I can’t Wait Baby’ for the movie to get released,” she says.
