Ishita Dutta Happy With Kannada Debut

Ishita Dutta (sister of B-Town actress Tanushree Dutta) who is making a foray into Kannada with Raja Rajendra says, “Initially I was very nervous because it was a different language and I was working with a new set of people. Once on the sets, I felt a thousand times better because of the team I was working with. It was fabulous to work with an actor like Sharan, director Pon Kumar and producer Uday Mehta. Everyone was very supportive. There were times when I would not know how to emote and Sharan would be so patient and taught me through the film. Then our director Pon Kumar had told me in the beginning that I should not worry and that everything is going to be fine. Today, I can’t believe that I am at the audio launch of the film. If I have to put it in one line, I would  say Raja Rajendra is a great launch pad for me in Kannada industry.”

Raja Rajendra according to Ishita is a family entertainer and also a suspenseful comedy. “The audience will not miss Sharan’s regular act, which he is famous for. But there is so much more coming from him in this film,” she further adds.

Ishita who is still in the early stages of her career is also learning the art of acting in other languages.

“Coming from a different industry, I have to be thorough with the language and invest proper inputs in the character. If I act in front of 12 people and nobody is reacting then the scenes are not working. My homework is to obviously understand the character as that is more important than the language. Though my role will be dubbed by somebody else, I didn’t want the emotions to fail. The director always told us to concentrate on emotions as the rest will follow and that helped me,” she says.

Ishita is concentrating on the Southern industry and has been approached by various directors from the Kannada industry and she is on the verge of finalising her second film. “I can’t reveal details of my other project before the release of

Raja Rajendra but  Kannada films are definitely on my plate,” she says.
