sridhar.jpgJust when the makers of Kanwarlal, a remake of blockbuster Hindi film Dabangg had their mahurath all set for Sankranti, director MD Sridhar has backed out of the project. Though Sridhar was keen to direct Ganesh again, he justified his reason for leaving the project. “I am not fully prepared. I believe that whether it is an original script or a remake, we need to take equal responsibility for turning it into a good film and I have done that for my previous film Bulbul. I don’t think I can give the required time to this project as I am busy with Buguri, the first film under our banner. If I take up Kanwarlal, I don’t think, I can do justice to either film. I haven’t even thought about the character  of  Ganesh and since the producers want to start the film soon,  it is not right on my part to take up the film without putting in my 100 per cent,” he says.

Now that Sridhar has backed out, one will have to wait to know who will helm the film.
