Suni Joins Hands with Ashu Bedra for Simplag Innondu Love Story

Director Suni who shot to fame with his 2013 rom-com Simple Agi Ondhu Love Story has silently started shooting for its sequel, Simplag Innondu Love Story from January 14. Although, officially, nothing has been announced from their end, the director has joined hands with producer Ashu Bedra.

The film which is made under  the banner of Ashu Bedra Ventures stars Meghana Goankar and debut actor Praveen  among others. They have already completed their first schedule last Saturday in Bengaluru and will start their next schedule sometime this week. This bit of the film will be shot in different locations including offbeat rural spots from Mangaluru to Karwar. The Simplag team will cover 70 per cent of the shoot in this schedule. Apparently, the makers will release their first trailer sometime at  the end of February or beginning of March and that will give viewers the first look of the film. This section of the story will also have a flashback sequence.

Producer Ashu has been in the field for around 10 to 11 years and is already a well-known name on the small screen, having  produced serials and shows like Saagara Sangama, Oggarane Dabbi, Baduku Jataka Bandi among others. His mega serial Radha Kalyana is all set to complete 1000 episodes in March. Although Ashu initially entered Sandalwood to become an actor, he ended up on the production side of things and is still learning the ropes.

Although Ashu had had a couple of opportunities to enter the industry and make his maiden production venture on the big screen, he waited for the right script to come along. When he heard Suni’s story, he liked it and immediately took on the project.

According to our sources, Ashu does not believe in limiting himself to the producer’s role and will be involved in the creative part of the film as well. In fact, Ashu joined Suni right at the initial stages of this film and has seen the story  evolve over time. He actually drove around with the director for two months to choose the locations before they started the shoot.

The reason Ashu has taken up Suni’s Simplag Innondu Love Story is because of the quality of its content. He feels that if the content is good, the rest follows.

Although the film is a sequel, the story is not related to the stuff that happened in Part I. As for what the film is about, the audience will have to wait and watch out for the trailer. Suni approaches cinema like a member of the audience rather than a technician and that is what attracted Ashu to the film in the first place.

While Simplag Innondu Love Story is Ashu’s first project, he already has four other films in the pipeline. Looks like this small-screen producer is here to stay in Sandalwood.
