Golden Star Ganesh’s long time wish of getting a tattoo of Lord Shiva done on his arm was finally fulfilled on Monday. And for the actor, it was not a simple effort, but a reflection of an attitude and a belief which he want to attain within himself.

“There were many designs of Lord Shiva, but I had created one in my mind after reading a lot and forming thoughts of the god. The result was a vision which was different from the regular tattoos,” says Ganesh, who has convinced his wife Shilpa to get one done as well.

According to the actor, the tattoo is based on a concept. “The lord has a snake on one shoulder while his eyes are closed, which depicts peace in spite of hurdles. The tiger represents power that one should have to lead life amid challenges. Under the trishul and the damaru is a thin line in red which is depiction to remain within certain boundary and in our business, it could translate into ‘No publicity’. The flames represent ego, which should not get to one’s head,” elaborates the actor.

Tattoo artist Pruthvi Gowda, popularly known as Minty, felt that this tattoo of Shiva that he made for Ganesh was incredibly special. He says, “I had some designs of Shiva, but he kept it all aside, and personally sat with me to bring out the tattoo sketch. His description was very creative and his idea was that the tattoo should represent peace and power, which matches his mentality.” According to Minty, the actor never showed any sign of pain during the entire process. “He was at ease and after each lining and shading, he would stand in front of the mirror and review the progress and say to himself ‘Wow, Super alva, any doubt’. That was the level of excitement I saw in the star,” says Minty.
