Puneeth Rajkumar who is currently shooting for Chakravyuha and Doddmane Hudga has plans to start on his next, Rajakumara, from February 2016. This is the second film to be helmed by Santhosh Ananddram after Mr and Mrs Ramachari, which was a blockbuster. The star cast is being finalised and the buzz is that  among the first to be roped in is actor Sarath Kumar. Interestingly, this is the first time Puneeth will be sharing screen space with the South Indian actor, who will play father to the actor in Rajakumara.

The film, produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale films, has been in the news since last year when Santhosh decided to work with Puneeth, kept the title Rajakumara and brought out posters of the film, which grabbed a lot of attention. With an ensemble star cast planned for Rajakumara, the makers plan to make an official announcement once everything is confirmed.

Santhosh on a recce

The director who is ready with a bound script planned the locations for the film and will shoot in Australia, Goa, Mysuru, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Delhi among few other places. "We will be shooting a few scenes, action sequences and a couple of songs in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. I will be off to a recce in Australia from December 7, to finalise the locations," he says.

Santhosh has already set the release date of Rajakumara for Diwali, even before it goes on floors. And, he says a release date will help organise the schedules well in advance. "The teaser and the first look of Rajakumara will be released along with Doddmane Hudga, while we plan the audio release for Dasara and follow it with the release in Diwali. All this is possible because of the producer, who has an equal part to play in making a good film. He is not there just to invest money. He has been part of the film from day one and it is definitely an added advantage for the film," says Santhosh.
