Having explored every aspect of action films with Satya in Love, Gilli, and Lakshmi, director Raghava Marasur previously known as Raghava Loki is now trying his hands on a love story, A 2nd Hand Lover, with Ajai Rao in the lead.
With the film set to release this week along with Arjuna, Chandrika, and Nanu Avalu Avanala, Raghava seems to have waited long enough; the shooting for the film was completed in November last year. “Even though the film was ready to hit the theatres, we waited because Ajai’s first debut venture as a producer Krishna Leela was doing well and we didn’t want to clash with it,” he says.
Among fans, the title A 2nd Hand Lover has been a topic of curiosity; and according to Loki, first love has been delved with in many ways, but not much has been explored when a person falls in love for the second time. “This film is about falling in love again and finding acceptance as well as the same degree of love as the first time. The film follows a regular format but stories on love can be told in many ways and we have tried to make it interesting,” he says.
Ajai plays an aspiring rock star and for the first time he is paired opposite Pranitha Subhash. The makers have planned to release the film in 175 theatres.
With Ajai having his own fan following and Pranitha scorching the screen in Kannada after a long hiatus, the director hopes to see some excitement in theatres. “The characters are similar to common people and the situations we experience in real life. The fact that Ajai is an aspiring rock star adds that extra zing,” Raghava says. Along with Pranitha and Ajai, heroine Anisha plays the second lead. The music is composed by Gurukiran and cinematography by KS Chandrashekar.
