Chetan, who had decided to part of a movie adaptation of a Marathi novel Duniyadari, has accepted his second film for the year.
This yet-to-be-titled flick will be directed by Mahesh Babu of Akash and Arasu fame. The director, confirming the news to City Express, is all smiles.
"Chetan is one actor, who has all the qualities of a commercial hero, but is choosy about his subjects. The actor was biding his time and had a couple of discussions with us before he agreed to do this film," says the director.
Interestingly, Chetan will be a playing a TV reporter, in the movie that will take on a social cause. "I wanted an actor who looks like he's fresh out of college," says Mahesh, adding, "secondly, Chetan can forcefully deliver a message to the audience."
The film produced by Prakash, Prem and Venu is likely to go on floors from October.
Chetan, who was seen on screen three years ago with Mynaa, has now accepted back-to-back projects. The actor who will be shooting for the Marathi remake of Duniyadari from August will follow it up with Mahesh's project.
Meanwhile, Mahesh is gearing up for the release of his Crazy Boy, starring Dilip Prakash and Ashika Ranganath. "It will most likely come to the theatres on August 19," he says.
