Sai Kumar, known as the Dialogue King in the film industry, has been planning to launch his son Aadi in Sandalwood for long. This year, this dream is set to come true.
The young actor, who has now established himself in Telugu film industry, will be debuting in Kannada. The movie will be a remake of Telugu hit Karthikeya.
A happy Sai Kumar confirms the news with City Express: “Yes, it is time I launched my son in Kannada and we have finalised the film. In time, we will be able to share more details.”
The actor is keen on Aadi’s Kannada debut because of the close ties his family has with this industry. “I am here for one, my one brother
Ravishankar is an established name in Karnataka and the other Ayyappa has been working as a director in Sandalwood. Even my mother (Krishnajyothi) was an actor in this industry. So, for the last two to three years, I’ve been wishing Aadi makes a movie in Kannada,” says Sai Kumar, who had been hunting for a good script. In fact, there were even plans of doing a bilingual — in Telugu and Kannada.
Sai Kumar says, “Meanwhile we came across Karthikeya and we liked the film.” There was another personal reason to do this film. “Our house deity is Subramanya Swamy. So we thought the title and the script will be an apt launch for Aadi,” says the proud father.
“The film is focussed on the subject and there is no burden on the hero,” he says. “Also a reason why we picked the script. We will have complete clarity on the project in the next ten days.” Karthikeya is a 2014 bilingual mystery thriller made in Telugu and Tamil. The film had Nikhil Siddharth playing the lead.
Aadi, keen on working in different film industries, is excited about his Kannada debut.
Meanwhile, Sai Kumar is looking forward to his next Telugu film Chuttalabbayi, in which the father-son duo is sharing screen space for the first time. “People have been asking us to work on a film together. Chuttalabbayi is nearly done and the filmmakers are planning the audio release next week. This is Aadi’s eighth film, but its speciality is that we are both in it,” says Sai Kumar. “The film is commercial with fun elements. I make an appearance around its interval,” he says.
With Veerabhadram helming the project and is produced by a person based in the US.
SS Thaman has done the music with Namitha Pramod playing the female lead.
