A newly released poster shows Sudeep in a boxer get-up, and it has gone viral. Actors in the industry are also raving about it. This is for S Krishna’s upcoming directorial and production, Phailwan. The director has come with a storyline that combines boxing and wrestling because he thought the combo is more interesting than the parts.
Releasing the first look of his sports flick on the eve of the actor’s birthday, Krishna believes that Sudeep looks every inch a boxer. Captured against the backdrop of a boxing training ring, the actor’s sweat drenched and a well-toned body goes perfectly with his menacing look. There is another poster with Sudeep in a hoody, and it is equally intense.
Krishna, who plans to go on floors with the film in October, after Sudeep completes his shoot for The Villain, is sparing no effort. Sudeep will even be trained by a foreign fightmaster for the boxing scenes, and will wear life-like bruises with make-up artistes being flown down from abroad.
The wrestling portions will be shot in Davangere and Hubballi among other locations. The film, made under RRR Motion Pictures, has music by Arjun Janya and cinematography by Karunakar.
