The actress, who was on a holiday in Thailand,  has just returned and is now waiting excitedly to get back into the studio. “The music album will have big singers such as Sonu Nigam and Arman Malik, and having my name go along with theirs is definitely an achievement,” says Mayuri, who is busy rehearsing the tune while she waits for the final lyrics. “I see this as a big opportunity to prove my talent in singing and I hope to do well... fingers crossed,” she says.

Mayuri has always had a passion for singing, even from a young age, and says it was more than a hobby. “I have not taken classes nor trained in singing,” she says. “I believe that, like acting, language is not a barrier.  We experience positive and negative vibrations depending on the song we are listening to, it even affects the rate of our heart beat. My only ambition is to sing at least one song in a film and I hope to realise it in Kariya 2. If I do well with it, I will only be happy to do more of this.”
The shooting and post-production for Kariya 2 is almost done and the filmmakers are now planning to start with the promotions in a week or two. To start with, they have in mind a grand audio launch followed with the film’s release. Mayuri says, “This movie will be special, and I will reveal why in the coming days as and when we start with the promotions. Everyone works hard but this team has put in a sincere effort.”
Mayuri is yet to accept another movie for her next project. “I am waiting to start on the last schedule of MTV Subbalakshmi. Meanwhile I have decided to go slow in picking my next movies. I have been reading a lot of scripts but I am waiting for the right one,” she says.
