About the film’s long gap between shooting schedules, Priya says it was a planned move. “The team and I have been organised in how we want to go about the shoot. The gap was unavoidable. When I had completed shooting eighty per cent of the film, I took it to the edit desk to get clarity on how much more was left to be shot. Now I’m done with that, and have a clear idea as to what scenes are left. We will then get to the song sequences, which will also take place in the city, apart from one track for which we might go elsewhere,” she tells us.

Priya had assisted director Maniratnam, and has directed three Tamil films. For her Sandalwood debut, she is bringing a family entertainer to audiences. “It’s been a great journey for me,” says Priya, adding, “The beauty of this film is that it’s been all about teamwork. I had everyone collaborating to bring out a good film, and that includes producers, actors and technicians. I want to especially mention the film’s cinematographer Preetha (Jayaram), with whom I was able to share my vision. So far, the whole process has been a beautiful experience.”

Priya, who is currently getting all the artistes down to the dubbing studio, is excited about the film’s music, which has been composed by Anup Bhandari. “This is going to be a different kind of album, Anup has added a youthful flavour to the tunes. We recently had singer Vijay Prakash lending his voice for a track, and I was so excited to hear him sing,” she says.

Priya now wants to complete the shoot before dishing out more details about the project. She concludes by saying she will reveal more about the story and characters when the first look of the is released.
